Marine-grade teak transforms the deck into a masterpiece of fine shipbuilding. For this private gozzo, we designed and crafted a bespoke cladding using 20 mm solid teak planks, selected to ensure dimensional stability, structural strength and an aesthetically uniform grain.
The process began with a meticulous selection of wood species, assessing their density and grain to ensure that each plank was suited to the complex contours of the hull. A dedicated sampling phase enabled us to fine-tune the installation and apply a test coat of varnish designed to enhance the wood’s warm tones whilst ensuring maximum protection against UV rays and salt spray.
The project involved the philological restoration of the damaged wooden parts and meticulous caulking, which is essential for ensuring the structure’s waterproofing and longevity.
